Twilight's Second Coming
Chapter 2
Best of Everything

Withya followed Link into the Castle Town. She had been to Hyrule only a few times in her life and it amazed her every time. Link was unfazed-even a little board- by it. Withya followed Link closely for the fear of getting lost would be bad. It happened once. Yes, yes it did. Withya had been seven and wandered away to the fountain. She splashed around in its waters until night fall. Meanwhile, Link went to see Zelda and the Princess of Hyrule asked about Withya. Link had just noticed that the youngling was gone. Oh that was bad.

Elsewhere, Withya wandered around the town-tears in her eyes. That was terrifying for the seven year old. Luckily Telma was out shopping and found her. Telma had fed and put Withya to sleep. While running around, Link was on a mini quest. Objective: FIND WITHYA. AT ALL COSTS! Link went all over. He even went to the place where Midna first found him under the castle. He was that desperate to find the youngling he'd go to creepy places that he'd know where Withya would never go to.

Finally, Link wandered into Telma's bar, tears in his eyes and pounded his fist on the bar. "ALE!" he demanded. "I need ale!" Telma looked at Link with shock but did as he said.
Link downed the ale in two gulps and demanded another. He'd drink his worries and sadness away. First time too.

Telma gave the hero two more mugs before he passed out on the floor.

Telma dragged Link into the other room where Withya was a snuggled up. When Telma came in Withya shot up and over to Link. Withya crawled under his arm and went back to sleep. Link moaned. Telma nodded at her handiwork and walked away to serve the guards that were off duty.

Withya sighed, reminded of the good times and continued the memory.

In the morning, Link woke up with a splitting headache. He heard laughter over in the room. The hero slowly got up and gasped at the sight he saw. Withya with Telma's cat in her lap, eating a bacon, bumplings and gravy with a glass of milk.

Link bound over and scooped Withya up and swung her around just as she was about to bit into a piece of bacon. The cat fell tot he floor with hiss and the bacon was soon spied by the cat. Withya giggled and screamed as Link threw her up in the air and tickled her silly. Well beyond silly.

Soon Link set her down and ate breakfast with her. They talked about yesterday's events and they walked hand in had out of the bar and back to the castle. Withya first time to Hyrule Castle was that day.

Princess Zelda was the most beautiful person Withya had ever laid eyes on. Withya yanked her hand out of Link's and ran up to the throne. The youngling rest her hands on Zelda's knees and starred up at the older Hylian. Zelda smiled down at Withya and picked her up and set Withya on her knee. Link walked up the stairs to the throne and dropped to his knee.

Zelda gently poked Withya in the belly and wiggled her slender fingers in her face. "She looks like her mother," the princess said to no one in particular. Link was taken back but nodded. "She will not turn out like her mother though."

End of memory.

Withya then saw where she was standing. The throne room. Link looked over his shoulder at her and winked. They walked up the stairs to the throne and feel on one knee heads bowed. "Rise up, Link. Withya, welcome back." A soft angelic voice said. Withya looked up. There she was, Princess Zelda not looking as if she had aged a day, sat on the throne, hands folded in her lap. She smiled warmly at both.

"Princess." Link said.

"Link, no need for formalities. We are friends, are we not?"

Link blushed and nodded. He stood and motioned Withya to follow suit. Zelda stood also and with gracefully wave of her gloved hand, she motioned them to follow. "The rock you have Link-the one that helps you turn into a wolf-where is it?" Zelda asked as they walked through the castle to the library. "You will need it. I have a theory, that is, if we use the rock, we use that as a key to get you there and back. Because you are the last to be in the Twilight and the rock is the last of the twilight in this world, we can use both to rebuild the Mirror of Twilight."

Withya and Link listened carefully. Zelda continued saying: "And will Withya go with you?"

"Maybe" Withya said while Link said "Yes" at the same time. Link looked at Withya with surprise. Withya hung her head. "Why won't you come? Witty?"

"Link, this is a hero's matter, not mine." Withya stated sadly.

Link knew that Withya wanted to go, badly. And he wanted her to go also. Like he was, she was destined for adventures and greatness. He could feel it. Link huffed and put his hands on his hips in a girly fashion. "You are going and that is that!" he looked at Zelda as if nothing had happened. "Yes she is coming with me."

Zelda also knew that Withya was destined for power and such, but she understood why Withya said maybe. Withya didn't want to be a bother to Link or get in the way. But Zelda knew that Link had trained her well with a sword and bow so Withya would be fine when the time came. Although, Zelda prayed that Withya would never have to put her hand on the hilt of the sword.

They walked on in silence. Withya walked with a new pride like Link did. Link broke the silence first as the entered the library. "We will have to get you a sword and a shield. Maybe a bow too would do you nice." he said giving Withya meaningful sideways glance. "And you will need a new tunic."

The library was large and bright. A single table lay in the middle of the room. The tall shelves curved with the walls(think of the library from he Beauty and The Beast). Zelda walked quickly to the table and stood over an opened book. Withya studied the page carefully. "What is this?"

"The history of the Twilight Realm." Zelda stated. "It says only true ruler of the Twilight Realm is able break the mirror, but a person who has passed through the veil-that would be Link-and a relic of the realm is able to recreate the mirror and thus pass through to the realm." Zelda read grazing her fingers over the page as she did.

Link laughed. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"Link!"

Link stopped. "Forgive me, princess."

Zelda waved her hand. "I said enough with the formalities. But you can't go yet. Find Epona and get yourself ready, I will help Withya." Zelda put a hand on  Withya's shoulder. "Come with me."

Withya did as she was told and followed Zelda through the castle and to her chambers. Zelda went to her wardrobe and pulled out blue and black out fit with red eye on the chest. Withya walked over to Zelda. "Please wear this on the journey."

Withya bowed. "It would be an honor."

Zelda smiled."I will help you dress, but first-" Zelda walked over to her desk and picked up a beautiful sword. "take my sword with you. I want no objections, take it. By you taking it it would be my honor."

The teen took the sword and studied it. "I will."

Link leaned against Epona. "Where are they?"

As if an answer to his prayer:

"LINK!"

Link looked up. He saw Zelda walking down the stairs and a running figure in blue and black. Wrapping were tied around each wrist and a scarf was wrapped around the neck, covering the figures mouth and nose. There was sword remembered on the figure's hip. It was Withya.

Her fell light brown hair in her face as she stopped in front of Link. "Well took you long enough!" Link exclaimed. Withya pulled the scarf down and grinned. Then gave him a kidney shoot. Link fell on the ground groaning from Withya's punch. "Can we go? Like today?"

Withya called Bay and they said goodbye to the Princess and raced back to Ordon village to gather some supplies. Withya trembled as she past Link's old house and into the village. Link had stopped at his old house to grab a few things and said to meet at the springs in an hour. Withya sighed and pulled the scarf up.

The villagers looked at Withya with awe and disapproval. She sighed. They didn't know it was her. Thank Din. As she neared her house Withya pulled the scarf down and jumped off Bay. She walked in to see her mother on the couch. "Withya? Oh Withya. What had happened to you? Where did you get these clothes?"

"Mother! I'm fine. I was with, um er, Ian! Yes I was with Ian and I went to see the Princess and -"

"WHAT!!!??"

Uh-oh. "Yes I was with the Princess and she is sending me on a quest."

Ila stood up then. Glaring her daughter straight in the eye. Withya took after her father, very tall so Ila was looking up at her. "NO! You are not going on a quest. What if you don't come back? And where did you get a sword?" She didn't give Withya time to answer. "It was Link wasn't it? There that settles that. You are not going!"

"Mother, the Princess demands it. We had it planned and everything! I will not refuse her. And if i don't come back you may burn at that belongs to me. But I will come back, I am good with a sword and Link will be at my side. There is no need for you to panic!"

What if this, what if that is all Withya heard from her mother's mouth. "I should make you go to the Princess this instant and make you apologize for the lies you have said about her!"

Then the door was busted down. Mayor Bo stood in the door. "What is all the noise about?"

Ila walked over to her father and explained the whole story. A story that Withya did not tell. Withya took the opportunity to run to her room and get her belongings. She threw the pack over her shoulder so the strap was going across her chest and jumped out the window.

She landed lightly on her feet and ran around the house. BIG mistake. "Withya! Where did you go earlier!?" Ian said walking up to her. Withya turned and ran the opposite way. The other villagers heard all the yelling and hobbled over to Ila's house. They spotted Withya, still not knowing that it was she. Until-

"Withya? Where are you going?" Ian called after her.

Withya jumped on Bay and wheeled him around. "Stop her!" Ila yelled from the house. The villagers circled around Bay and tried to pushed the steed into a corner. Withya sighed and spurred the steed forward. Bay cleared a path through the villagers and cantered out the village grounds.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! this took me all day.
